NFL Trading Cards This Vintage Thingies Thursday

Happy Thanksgiving to my American VTT visitors! I know that watching NFL games on Thankgiving day is a part of American Thanksgiving tradition for some. Thanks to my hubby, I'm sharing a couple of vintage NFL trading cards.

Joe Namath's 1972 NFL card when he was the quarterback with the New York Jets is a bit battered.

However, what really matters about his card is the info that Broadway Joe was a "very eligible" bachelor that year!

Here is Archie Manning's 1972 NFL card. The father of the Manning brothers Peyton and Eli had quite the football career himself.

Obviously, Archie isn't the only Manning "endowed with special talents".

Visit Coloradolady for more vintage fun this VTT.

Happy VTT!

Go Broncos!

Those are some great cards to have I'm sure! I'm not much of a football watcher myself so I really don't know what they meant by "endowed with special talents". It sounds a little dirty to me! hehehe

It seems to me like it wasn't that long ago that those guys were playing.

At first I thought...oh..not football. But I loved it! I knew nothing of Archie Manning and now I might just be able to quiz hubby! My turn to grill him cuz he always grills me about old time hockey. Payback baby.

You have to love old Joe Namath. remember the Noxzema commercials? I think that was him. Okay now you know how old I am. Your cards are great!

Great Football cards, I remember Joe Namath more for the commercials....and you are right..everyone anticipates football on Thanksgiving....while I anticipate looking through the ads in the paper....Have a great weekend...

Wow what cool trading cards. My hubby used to collect baseball cards, but we don't know what happened to them. Now my boys collect football cards. Maybe vintage one day??

I like the cartoons on the back, too. I remember Joe Namath, I never thought he was that great looking though, like everyone else did.

Great NFL cards! Loved seeing the Joe Namath card(I grew up in NY and remember him playing-and yes, he really was quite the heartthrob). The Archie Manning card was great to see-we hear so much about his sons!

(I have to say it: Go Eagles! :)

Wow, does that Joe Namath card take me back! I actually met him in 1970. I was with my friends at a game; we were all 15. He was so nice to us.

Thank you for sharing these! (found you via Queer Joe's Knitting Blog)
