Christmas Crunch: Trying to Finish My Ribbed Vest

I've been busy all week with everyone else's life and trying to finish this ribbed vest by Patons before my Mom arrives for Christmas next weekend.

Not much to look at yet. This is the front. I'm just about finished the back. Then I'll have to sew in the ends and block both pieces. The finished vest should look like this.

I'm hoping to be knitting the collar, knitting the armhole bands and seaming (not all  at once!) this weekend.

My hands are getting sore from knitting. I promise I'll never wait this late again to knit a present even if  the pattern is in chunky yarn and has no sleeves.

There has got to be more Christmas knitting this FAF over at Andrea's at Wonder Why Alpaca Farm. Or, how about at Creative Friday?

Happy Finished Objects!

Yikes! There is a bit of knitting tenderness when you are rushing to knit. I find that my muscles hurt and I know it's because I hold the needle tighter thinking faster knitting will make it go fast but I end up knitting tighter...argh!

It looks great and it will be an amazing gift!

Happy Fiber Arts Friday!

I'm in the same boat! I'm about 1/2 way through an afghan that I plan to give as a gift.

I'd totally be done with it but I hate the yarn and it's difficult to do even a simple pattern and has way too many color changes. Grumble. I've learned my lesson.

Hope you finish soon!

I'm about half-way thru a top secret Christmas project too, but I'm not posting about it for a few weeks since the recipient is a sometimes reader of my blog.

I like the vest. It looks very soft and cuddly. I bet your mom will love it. :-)

I love the vest! Very pretty.

I have several gift projects in the works, can Christmas hold off a bit for me?

It's looking good so far. Can't wait to see it when it's done. But no leaving knitted presents to the last minute is never a good idea lol.
