My Christmas Sock This Vintage Thingies Thursday

I know this empty and tired vintage Christmas sock doesn't look like much, but it is full of memories being my childhood Christmas sock.

It is a reminder to me of how Christmas can be a magical time of year for children waking up to find gifts under the tree and surprises in Christmas socks. I was always amazed that this guy called Santa was responsible for filling this sock.

I have tried to give my children that same magic at Christmas. Only time will tell.

Visit Coloradolady today for more vintage goodness.

Happy VTT!

Thanks for showing us a great memory from your childhood. I have some similar to yours I am sharing on Pink Saturday 12.

I really miss having my old Christmas stocking. Luckily I have an old photo of me holding it.

Oh you will succeed at giving your children the magic. They seem to remember things that may not seem like much at the time but turn out to be traditions and fond memories.

What a wonderful keepsake from your childhood! Christmas was always magical for me, and I've made sure it is like that for my daughter. I still do it, even though she will be turning 21 on the 12th! She would be very disappointed if I didn't, and she has even said so!
Happy VTT!

Despite that MidSummer legend, Christmas Magic is the most powerful there is!!

I'm delighted that you dropped in at Lawn Tea, and equally glad to see your own childhood treasures.

I totally know what you mean. My parents gave me my childhood stocking a few years ago. I put it somewhere "safe" because it wasn't Christmas time, and now I can't find it. It was cheap felt and couldn't even hold gifts anymore, but I wanted to hang it as a decoration.

I love your childhood stocking. I posted about mine a couple of weeks ago. Mine was made of felt too. It always brings back great memories.

Love the memories you talked about too, I remember as a kid, thinking what ever was in the stocking was always the "most" special....Yours is a cute one! Happy VTT and have a great weekend.

It is a great vintage item, especially with the memories attached to it. I still have mine too and it is very similar to yours.
