Knitting Detour: Button-Up Your Cup Mug Cozy

I took a knitting detour yesterday from my ribbed lace bolero and had a quick fix of cables in the form of a mug cozy. Using Julie Tarsha's Button-Up -Your-Cup  pattern on Ravelry, I produced this off of my needles:

A satisfying knit! I broke it in this morning while having my orange pekoe. All I need to figure out is can you microwave wool? You know, to reheat your tea!

OK, I'm loving this. Just forwarded it to my entire knitting class that can't seem to figure out how to cast on but they want to do "Mug Cozzies". Thanks for sharing. - MaLinda

I LOVE IT! It's such a great design and really livens up boring coffee mugs. I do love the patterns I find on Ravelry. I'm no where near ready to knit cables yet but when I do, I am so on this pattern.

Thank you for sharing and for participating in Fiber Arts Friday. I look forward to reading more of your Fiber Adventures.

Looks great! Just downloaded the pattern. Thanks for sharing.

Knitty.com has a recipe for dyeing wool in the microwave, so a reheat is probably okay if the button can be microwaved. Acrylics I've read are dangerous in the microwave, at least theoretically since they're more flammable.

I love that pattern! I've been wanting to make it but I'm not sure my skills are there yet, ha ha. Plus, too many other projects ahead of it in the queue.

I handpaint my yarns and cook them in the microwave to set the dyes; I think you'd be okay for a quickie reheat.

Great post!
