What a Yarn: Day 7 of Knit and Crochet Blog Week

There’s one love that we all share: yarn. On this seventh and final day of Knit and Crochet Blog Week, I am sharing my love of Alafoss Lopi Iceland Fleece by Istex. I love the texture, smell and earthy colours of this pure sheep's wool.

I turn this wonderful yarn into Icelandic sweaters. This is mine.

This is my hubby's:

These sweaters are my favorite to knit.

I've really enjoyed this week of Knit and Crochet blogging. There are so many creative people out there in blog land. I've found new blogs to follow and new fiberistas to admire.

Thanks for spending time with me this week.

Happy Knit and Crochet Blogging!

My Favorite Knitted Object: Any of My Icelandic Sweaters

Jenny at Jenny's Blog on Knitting has posted her 100th post! She's having a contest to celebrate and is giving away a lovely ball of Kunstgarn from Hjertegarn. She's posed the question: what is your favorite finished object? This post is my answer.

I can't tell you why, but I love knitting Icelandic sweaters using Lopi wool. It might be the earthiness of the wool, the graphic designs in the pattern or the warmth of the finished garment.

This is one I knit for hubby.

I have to resist buying Lopi for more of these sweaters every time I am at my favorite yarn store which is a two hour drive from where I live. It's probably a good thing I can't buy this yarn locally, or there might be a population explosion of  Icelandic sweaters in my closet.

Happy knitting!
